And Southeast Governors Watched Python Dance
Nna, since this Biafra wahala started, I find it difficult to go to be bar; afuro m Ukwu m ji eje. But last night, I summoned courage to take at least one bottle.
Unlike the days we talked politics, IPOB and Biafra dominated discussions last night; every Tom, Dick and Harry had opinion. All through the session, I spoke little but did more of listening. Just as expected, that ugly question popped up. "Mr beer parlour gist, what's your take on this Biafra issue," a member of the bar from southwest queried.
You know what, after that sad incident in Abia, I've come to appreciate Mr. Trump, oh yes. Sebi you were among the people criticising him for condemning hate "on many sides" in response to violent white nationalist protests and a terror in Charlottesville, Virginia. Nna, sometimes, it's difficult not to find faults on both sides. So, on this IPOB matter, I go with Trump; I blame IPOB members, I blame the FG and their army. As for innocent lives that were lost in the process, southeast governors should take responsibility; being called Chief Security Officer of the state is not a guy name.
For trying so hard to sound politically correct, you allowed things to get out of hand, southeast governors. And if you ask me, this last minute move is more selfish than public interest; it's about fear of state of emergency.
Sebi all you want me to do is to condemn Buhari for sending soldiers against " unarmed" civilians abi? No wahala, Mr President, I condemn you. But will that bring the dead back, no! We can't be using our lives to play ludo in the name of agitation, which is always coloured with abuse and hate speeches. You have been quoting Catalonia in Spain, yet you don't want to toe their footsteps. My brother, you can't be insulting everybody and expect to win public sympathy; no way!
And that man at the bar kept reminding me that IPOB are my brothers...which is true. Yes, they are my brothers and I love them so much; I dont want anybody spilling their blood on the streets; there are many ways to kill a rat; this suicide mission of yours in not an option.
Don't get me wrong, I support Biafra; Biafra of the mind and not hoisting flags and singing like kenari upandan. Until we learn to love each other, until we put away sentiments, until we learn to organize ourselves and play according to the dictates of the constitution of Nigeria, it will remain motion without movement.
2019 is coming, Ipob members and every Igbo person should get ready. Join political parties, mobilize people and run for elective posts. When you get to the National Assembly, agitate for Biafra. When you get to Federal Executive Council, speak about the marginalization of Ndi Igbo. In your state assemblies, make laws that will develop the region; teach us how to love our selves and neighbours. Once you are ready for that, call me, I will join Ipob. But if you like, hoist millions of Biafran flags, print millions of t-shirts, march from Nigeria to Panya, this your tactics won't work.
We must be wise, easy does it. Like my father would say, "only a foolish man would fight the man with a gun" adi agba aka achu ife na ata alu. After watching that video of IPOB member pelting armoured tanker with stone, bottles and sticks, I felt sorry for my people; that was a suicide mission.
Let me beg you, with the army pronouncing you "terrorists" and our governors, including your friend Wike, banning your activities in the region, you better watch it. Any negative move might be suicidal. Mba, hold it there; I'm not here to argue legality and illegality with you. However, you don't stop a child from growing long teeth, as far as he has lips big enough to cover them. The floor is yours....a naaaa m
