Forget The Feuds, Politicians Know Themselves
Nna mehn, I've been thinking about something lately and the thing na agba m isi popcorn. Ngwanu, let me ask you, how many political parties do we have currently in Nigeria? Did I hear you say PDP and APC? My friend stop counting your fingers biko, they are not as much as you think...forget what you see on INEC books.
Yes, you are right in a way, there are actually just two political parties in Nigeria, but the answer is not APC and PDP; I daa ya. There are two parties in Nigeria; the rich and the poor! You know, I've been thinking how they have manipulated us all these years, using religion and tribal sentiments to divide us. But if you look clearly, you would see that Nigeria is a battle between the rich and the poor.
In the real sense of it, do we even have political parties? Have you seen one with clear cut ideology on how to better the lives of ordinary Nigerians? Upe! Ndia bu ndi fonfoju akpa; stomach infrastructure. My problem and your problem is least on their mind.
Ok, look at PDP, they were in power for 16 years abi? Was it not when they started having problems with sharing formula that the APC harvested their aggrieved members and ousted them out of power? Let me tell you the truth, if not that governors Kwankwaso (Kano) Amaechi (Rivers), Ahmed (Kwara), Wamakko (Sokoto) and Nyako of Adamawa "selfishly" joined APC in 2015, Buhari president wont have been possible, for where?
Did you ask why I listed my friend Amaechi on the list of those that won the election for APC? Na wa for you o, so you are still bitter about this Amaechi fight with Jona? Yes,I know APC lost in Rivers, but Amaechi's contribution was more psychological. For Jonathan's brother to lead Buhari's campaign was a huge disaster for the PDP. In fact, the time and resources they spent fighting Amaechi in Rivers, if they had invested that in mobilizing people from other states for Jona, things might have turned out differently. But you know what, It was all about the rich fighting to stay in power; it had nothing to do with the common man.
Ok, sebi you were dacing kukere and alanta, boasting that Saraki will deal with Buhari as Senate President? How far? What of the Saraki trial? When last did you hear about it? We've moved on cos they know how to use our brains; stay there and be arguing on the internet for people, who don't care about you. As far as I'm concerned, the politicians have negotiated their way through, what you see in the National Assembly floor is mere drama; real action happens at night.
First ask yourself, how did Saraki even emerge as Senate President with my brother Ekweremadu of PDP as Deputy? Now, you are nodding your head abi? Nna, leave Nigerian politics; Onye agholi ka agbaa. Sebi they have been correcting and correcting their mistakes until Lawan, who was tipped for senate President, became Senate Leader? Do you still hear noise from the red chamber? Ofeke amaro mgbe eji kee nku ukwa. Their common enemy now is Magu, the EFCC boss; they have refused to confirm him. Biko, don't ask me why, amebo. In fact, the man sef no send them; he's even catching more looters.
Look at House of Reps, the same thing. Wait o, is Jibrin back? The man was suspended for raising alarm over some fraudulent moves in the Green Chamber. And for daring to expose the "Honourables," he was sent home; APC rep member suspended by APC dominated house led by APC's Dogara. You see, it's about the rich protecting their investments.
If you want to understand this, watch out when their children are getting married; or burial of any of their parents; ebe nine ga abu so mmadu. They will put aside their political difference and turn up for each other. Stay there and be shouting "A Phee Ceee, Phee D Phee"; politicians know themselves.
The ones in PDP today will turn APC of tomorrow. The ones with the opposition today will join the ruling party tomorrow; and the followers will follow like mumu. Sebi they said a new party is coming, just watch out and see the cross carpeting, no, it will be cross "rug and tiles" now.
But you know the smart ones? Those ones that registered mushroom parties; ndi a no n'egwu jare. All they do is register the party, and then go on praying and fasting mode for the big parties to fight. Once that happens, they offer their platform to aggrieved candidates. Did I hear you say free of charge? Let me give you an assignment, find out how much it costs to offer a platform to politicians, who lost out in their party primaries, then come back and tell me...afia na azu there my brother.
In the end, it's about the rich against the poor.
