Let's Go To Benue

Nna mehn, I’m going to Benue by the weekend jare. Did I hear you ask what I’m going to do there? Hmmm, you see your life? Sebi you were here ‘Wicked’ Wike went to Benue; you also saw Fayose visit, did you ask them what they went there to do? Were you not the one clapping for them? E don reach my own, you don dey ask JAMB question. That’s pure pashalility!

Me, I’m going to Benue to sympathize with my friends over there over the senseless killings between farmers and herdsmen. Hey, hold it there, I’m not making any donation biko; I don’t have such money. I heard that Wike gave N200 million to victims, that’s a good one. After all, we must learn to be our brother’s keeper. But this bro Fayose is complete aka gum! After flying to Benue with chattered jet to the new ‘tourist site,’ he bombarded them with grammar and returned to Ekiti. Na grammar dem go chop lol. And he wants to be president of Nigeria? Nna, Oshoko, biko pack well joor. In this country, it’s money for hand, back for ground!

But wait oh, please remind me how much Wike gave to families that lost their lives during the bloody election that brought him to power as Governor of Rivers? Oh, you are counting your fingers abi? Oya, collect calculator, I give you free of charge. Just give me the figures. You see; charity begins at home. As far as I’m concerned that visit to Benue was purely political, onye aghogbuu ka agbaa. Stay there and be screaming ‘fulani herdsmen’ upandan… politicians are already sowing their seeds ahead of 2019. And from the way you have been dancing to their awantilo, na you go water the seeds for dem.

Ehen, did you read that interview in The Sun newspaper of Saturday, February 10, 2018? Oh, you haven’t? Come, what do you even read? Big Brother generation lol! Nna, Ibu nno ewu can beer. Please click the link and read:
After now, you will be insulting your friend Bobyrisky; all of you na the same; ndi ogbalu ofuu. Sorry jare; this my mouth sef. I no talk again, ndo.

But on a serious note, I think you need to read that interview with the Coordinator of the Benue State chapter of Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN), Alhaji Garius Gololo; it was a shocker for me. Nna, the baba revealed that the genesis of the recent killings could be traced to the decision of Governor Samuel Ortom to use the herdsmen during the election and later dumped them; what an allegation! For me o, Gov. Ortom must speak on that interview; we need to know the truth.

No, don’t get me wrong, I’m not authenticating what that baba said, but for him to put such allegation on a national newspaper, calling names and listing meeting venues and dates… my brother, confuse ga di ma! We need to find where mmili si baa n’opi ugbogulu. As far as am concerned, this Herdsmen saga is bigger than we think. And if we don’t ask proper question, we might be dealing with another Boko Haram.

Wait, wailing wailer, before you tagged me Pa Bubu apologist, how many of you are aware that Ortom was actually a PDP man before 2015? You see your life; use your Google! Now, you understand why those two PDP governors had to visit Benue? If you put one to two, you will understand. We must stop politicians from using our precious lives to play ludo.

Personally, this ‘Fulani herdsmen’ saga is a sad narrative for Nigeria. From Boko Haram to Herdsmen/Farmers clash, we have continued to kill ourselves unnecessarily; like animals. Till date, I’ve not been able to look at those gory pictures from Benue and Taraba; the wickedness in this country is epic! To make matter worse, both the security agencies and government are not helping matter.

For God’s sake, why did it take this long for the Federal Government to take action on those bandits? Yes, they are bandits, don’t tag them ‘herdsmen’; all herdsmen are not killers. We need to fish out those bandits and deal with them decisively. As well, those ethnic jingoists, who carry out reprisal attacks, should also be dealt with!

Let me use this opportunity to thank Channels TV for giving Nigerians the opportunity to have a better understanding of what’s happening in Benue and Taraba; it’s beyond what you think my brother. That TV programme, The Core, did a bit of justice to the matter. And if we are really serious about dealing with this situation, government, by now, should have a handle on it; this is a serious security challenge and must be checked immediately.

Social media, social media, social media…. Hmm, how many times did I call you? Igbugo anyi! You have killed us! These days, people don’t even know what to believe anymore. Through social media, we unnecessarily put the entire country into tension, with people raising false alarm every other day. Look, if we continue like this, this country will not entre you and I by 2019.

To understand how wicked we are in this country, the same social media that heavily criticized Mr President for no taking action has refused to tell Nigerians that the FG has launched Operation Cat Race in Benue and Taraba against the killers. You were sharing the fake news about Fulani killings on Lagos Benin experience, yet you couldn’t spare some data to educate Nigerians about the decision by the government to engage the killers using full military force? You see yourself?

Come, what am I even saying? Sebi this government has ministry of information, what are they doing? Come, Uncle Lai, don’t be deceived by the number of radio and TV stations you have across the country; Nigerians of today live on the internet, go and meet them there! Oh yes, they hardly watch your NTA and FRCN; that’s old skool. If you like, be burning diesel every day to power the station. Go and set up very active social media handles, push info via whatsapp! If you are waiting for Nigerians to do your job, bros you will get the opposite. In case you don’t know, those who want this government to fail are in the majority, sad but true. Anaaaaa m!
